Automatic knives featuring an out-the-front mechanism have long fascinated the cutlery community, and double-edged daggers have been a tool of choice for specific military operations throughout history. The MOD Triton represents the ultimate synthesis of both of these concepts. Based on a design by acclaimed custom knife maker Jeff Harkins that won the “Best Folder” award at the prestigious Las Vegas Classic knife show, the Triton mechanism provides safe, secure spring-powered opening and closing and achieves the tightest and most secure lock-up of any double-action out-the-front knife ever produced.

When the operating button is pushed forward, the drive spring loads and finally releases, extending the blade straight out the front of the handle and locking it firmly in place. When the operating button is pulled to the rear, the spring loads again before retracting the blade into the handle. The carefully tuned tension of the spring allows the operating button to serve as both a release and a safety, preventing accidental opening of the blade. Constructed of Milspec-anodized aircraft aluminum, the precision machined handles of the Triton feature wingwalk insert panels for a secure grip. They complement the 154CM blade and advanced operating mechanism to make this knife the true definition of the “state of the art” in front-opening automatic knives. A spring steel belt clip allows the Triton to be conveniently carried in the pocket or waistband, or it can be carried horizontally or vertically on the belt via the ballistic nylon belt pouch that comes standard with every Triton automatic knife.
