Description
Keating Hornet
James Keating is one of the premier modern authorities on knife and counter-knife tactics. An accomplished martial arts expert and holder of several black belts, his "Riddle of Steel" edged-weapon training camps routinely attract participants from around the globe.
Drawing from his extensive background knowledge, Keating designed the remarkable Hornet to be one of the most compact of the MOD tactical folders. Deep finger grooves and multiple sets of textured ridges ensure a positive grip in high-stress situations, while its parang-style blade offers cutting performance normally reserved for much larger knives.
The Hornet?s enhanced liner-lock construction uses a separate, heavy-duty locking bar for superior strength and ease of operation. In its automatic version, a plunge-style push-button release is paired with the liner lock, offering an outstanding combination of rapid deployment and superior strength. The unique flush-mounted style of the button allows immediate operation of the opening mechanism while serving as an effective safety against accidental firing.
Available with either a plain or partially serrated blade, the Hornet is an excellent low-profile choice for civilian utility and personal protection and also makes a great duty knife for law enforcement and military personnel. To provide the ultimate in high-speed deployment, an optional Kydex? sheath is also available that allows the knife to be carried discreetly in the open position. A ballistic nylon belt pouch is also available free of charge upon request.
